Underpinning

Underpinning is a specialist structural technique used to strengthen or stabilize the foundations of a building. It is used where foundations may have weakened over time.

Under the Vacant and Derelict Homes Grant, underpinning can be a key part of the renovation process, allowing owners to bring structurally compromised homes back into use. By combining underpinning with other restoration works, we help transform underused or deteriorating properties into safe, functional, and high-quality homes, maximising the impact of the grant funding.
